Investing in Mental Health: Supporting Our Community Through Mental Health First Aid

At Community HealthCare System, we know that mental health is just as important as physical health—and having the right tools to respond in moments of need can make all the difference.

That’s why we’re excited to share that we’ve received a $2,000 grant from the Stormont Vail Foundation to support our Mental Health First Aid efforts. This funding will help us continue building stronger, more informed communities by expanding access to training that teaches individuals how to recognize and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges.

Mental Health First Aid is designed for everyday people—staff, community members, caregivers—anyone who may find themselves in a position to help someone who is struggling. Through this training, participants learn how to identify warning signs, offer initial support, and connect individuals with appropriate resources.

This grant allows us to do more of that important work. From covering training materials to increasing the number of sessions we can offer, the impact is immediate and meaningful. It helps ensure that more people in our community feel confident stepping in, starting conversations, and supporting one another.

Because sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is simply recognize that someone needs help—and know what to do next.

We’re grateful for this investment in our mission and in the well-being of the communities we serve. Together, we’re helping create a culture where mental health is understood, supported, and prioritized.
