  • Interview patients or the financially responsible individual to complete admission registration at the bedside via data entry into the data base. Includes but is not limited to patient identification, payment information, living wills, and Durable Power of Attorney.
  • Triage incoming calls to the Acute Nursing Department
  • Perform clinical duties within the scope of a Certified Medical Assistant, such as obtaining blood samples, setting up EKGs and measuring and recording vital signs.
  • Enter charges.
  • Maintain flow of paper charts and assist nurses and physicians.
  • Obtain copy and distribute all paperwork required to transfer or discharge a patient.
  • Compile and record patient information into the electronic medical record.
  • Perform general clerical duties including but not limited to answering and triaging calls and directing calls to appropriate staff or other ancillary departments.
  • Receive and route messages and documents such as laboratory results to appropriate staff.
  • Greet visitors and direct them to appropriate staff or location.
  • Assure census and medication reports are ready for next shift, make copies, fax or e-mail information.
  • Maintaining appropriate level of office supplies for use by staff.
  • Accurately record Emergency Room patients and Outpatients in ER book.
  • Answer patients' call signals and communicate need(s) to appropriate staff.
  • Assist with swing bed patient’s activities as assigned by nurses.
  • Supports and abides by the mission, values, and policies of CHCS in all activities.
  • On-going compliance with CHCS educational requirements.
  • All other duties as required.
