  • Answer telephone and determine whether the caller is trying to obtain general information, schedule an appointment or speak to a nurse/provider. 
  • Review and print schedule at the beginning of the day and periodically review schedule throughout the day to determine patient flow and provider availability. 
  • Verify patient identity, note changes of address, contact information or other pertinent information; verify and correct MPI Information. 
  • Produce paperwork and admit numbers for Specialty Clinic visits.
  • Enter psychiatry and regular clinic and hospital charges within 24 hours of visits. 
  • Coordinate outpatient services with access services. 
  • Schedule follow-up appointments at the end of the current day appointment. 
  • Track, compile, analyze and report month Specialty Clinic encounter data. 
  • Ensure results are being provided to ordering physicians. 
  • Ensure dictation is being obtained in a timely manner and distributed to appropriate sources per physician and CHCS guidelines. 
  • Complete pre-registration and registration of patients; obtain proper forms with completed signatures as appropriate. 
  • Ensure new patient paperwork is completed per physician guidelines. 
  • Communicate changes in schedule with nursing and provider staff. 
  • Communicate with patient/family member in the waiting room if provider is delayed and communicates anticipated wait time for appointment. 
  • Obtain written patient approval for financial responsibility and authorization for treatment. 
  • Collect point of service payment. 
  • Review schedule at the beginning of the day and anticipate set-up procedures and/or supplies needed for patient visit. 
  • Supports and abides by the mission, values, and policies of CHCS in all activities.
  • On-going compliance with CHCS educational requirements.
  • All other duties as required.
